When my kids made this spiderweb slime, they couldn’t stop giggling at how stretchy and stringy it turned out. The Insta Snow is really what gives it that perfect “web-like” texture, and my daughter loved experimenting until she got it just right. Each of my kids jumped in to stir, stretch, and poke at the slime—it was messy, silly, and so much fun!

The best part came when we added a handful of little plastic toy spiders. Suddenly, our slime wasn’t just a cool sensory activity—it was a spooky Halloween scene.

Ways to Play with Your Spider Web Slime:

• Spider Sensory Bin: Use it as a Halloween sensory bin filler.
• Spider Hunt Game: Hide small plastic spiders inside the slime and challenge kids to find and count them. For older kids, turn it into a math game by adding, subtracting, or grouping the spiders.
• Web Stretch Challenge: See who can stretch their slime the farthest without breaking it. Great for practicing patience and motor skills!
• Fine Motor Practice: Give kids tweezers or tongs to pick the spiders out of the slime, building hand strength and coordination.

How to Make Spider Web Slime:

Supplies:

• School glue
• Insta Snow Powder (not decorative snow)
• Water
• Slime Activator of your Choosing
  • Borax solution: 1 teaspoon borax powder and 1 cup warm water
  • Contact solution: Not all contact solutions will activate slime, it has to contain boric acid and sodium borate
  • Store-bought Slime Activator

Approximate Measurements for Spiderweb Slime

Just like baking, a lot of things factor into slime making like not all glue is made the same, humidity differences and so forth, so be prepared to adjust the ingredients to make your slime recipe perfect for you!

• 1 cup white school glue (about one 4 oz. bottle works too)
• 1/4 cup water (mix with glue to thin it)
• 2–3 tablespoons Insta Snow powder activated with water according to Insta Snow directions: start small, add more for extra webbing effect.
• 1–2 tablespoons slime activator
  • Borax solution: 1 teaspoon borax powder and 1 cup warm water
  • Contact solution: Not all contact solutions will activate slime, it has to contain boric acid and sodium borate
  • Store-bought slime activator
• Optional: ½ teaspoon lotion or a few drops of glycerin if slime feels stiff

Directions:

👉 Important: Add the ingredients slowly, in small amounts, stirring well between additions.

Mix Glue & Water – Start with glue in a bowl and mix in a little water, approximately 1/4 cup. Stir until smooth.

Activate the Slime – Slowly add 1-2 tablespoons of slime activator a little at a time, stirring thoroughly between additions. This is the trick to getting just the right consistency! Too much at once makes slime stiff.

Add Insta Snow – Add water to the insta snow as directed by the manufacturer. Sprinkle in a small amount of the mixed Insta Snow powder and stir. This is what makes the slime stretchy like webs.

Check the Texture – Keep stirring until your slime starts pulling away from the bowl. Adjust as needed:

• If it’s too stiff → knead in some lotion or glycerin.
• If it’s too runny → add a tiny bit more activator.

Play & Stretch – Once your slime is ready, stretch it out to reveal the web-like strings. It’s spooky, stretchy fun!
