Lightening McQueen Cardboard Car Craft

Now that my son is getting old enough to have an opinion, he loves anything car, truck, train or plane related. He always has some sort of vehicle in each hand;
I literally have to pry them away from him at bedtime. His favorite movies to watch are Disney Cars and Disney Planes so when the challenge to
create a Disney themed craft was presented I knew Lightening McQueen would be a sure winner that my son would love to play with.

Our Lightening
McQueen craft is made from a recycled cardboard box, paper bowl, and some lids. I
made the car by myself because my kids were sick. I was planning on having them
help paint and glue the car to make it more of a kid made craft. Our little red
car is so fun to play with and easy
to make we will be making these
again now my kids feel better.
Don’t forget to see check out the rest of the Disney inspired crafts at the end of this post.

Lightening McQueen Cardboard Car

Supplies:
Red craft paint
Black spray paint
Small cardboard box
Paper bowl
4 large caps (I used Minute Maid Orange Juice lids)
Scissors
Craft paper-white, yellow
Tape
Pen

Directions:

1.  Cut the paper bowl into 3 parts. Remove the center part and tape the two remaining pieces together to make the roof. Draw the outline of Lightening McQueen’s eyes, then paint the roof red being careful not to paint his eyes.

2.  Spray paint the lids black to make the tires and set them out to dry. Draw two number 95’s in bubble letters and cut them out. Wrap the cardboard box in white paper and draw Lightening McQueen’s mouth and headlights on the front of the box. Carefully paint the box red being careful not to paint his face.

3.  Once all the pieces are dry put Lightening McQueen together by taping the roof of the car onto the box and using hot glue to glue on the lid tires.
