Kids can learn about bats as they color, cut, and label this bat printable science activity.

Kids can often be scared of bats because they are featured during Halloween time, only come out in the dark, and the vampire bat doesn’t help matters with its blood-drinking habits. So to help my kids not be scared of the only mammal that can fly we took a closer look with our latest Color and Label Printable, some of our favorite bat books, and an educational video. By the end, my kids had a change of heart and now think bats were adorable and are happy to have them around so they can eat mosquitoes and pollinate our flowers.

The printables are a great way to discuss bat anatomy. My kids found it interesting that bats have fingers like we have fingers. Even if your child is too young to read the labels (like Little Dragon) they can still color, and possibly cut and glue them into place using the printable version that has numbers on it. Older kids can read the labels on their own and place them on the correct line. You could add this page to a science journal. Check out our Learning about Nocturnal Animals for more suggestions to go along with this activity and try a STEAM Bat Activity.
