Kids can make Halloween shadows appear on the window day or night with this coffee filter suncatcher craft and free template. They can choose from 6 silhouette templates (jack-o-lantern, bat, ghost and more) or make their own design. No matter what they choose each suncatcher will turn out brilliant as it catches the autumn sun and casts a spooky glow in the room.

Directions:
Have child paint their coffee filter and set it out to dry. The darker the paint the better because it does tend to lighten as it dries.
Print out the pattern on black paper and have child cut around the outside or help them by cutting it out so they can complete the craft. The spider has a lot of little cuts so I cut it out for the kids. If kids are having trouble knowing where to cut you can trace the lines with white chalk.
Glue the pattern to the coffee filter and the craft is done! Our Halloween coffee filters are currently hanging on our window and the kids love looking at them.

I love this idea. We just made Jack-o-lanterns using markers, coffee filters, and construction paper. But I think it is a great idea to use watercolor paints. I already know what I want to do next year! Thank you.
