My children had lots of smiles as they colored their St. Patrick’s Day pictures. When they were done the pictures immediately got taped on the wall for all to admire. My little preschooler (Little Pup, age 3) has to put all his work on the wall. I LOVE seeing him look proudly at his work. My older kids (Little Dragon and Little Tiger age 9 and 11) liked using a combination of coloring supplies like markers, pencils, and crayons to give their pictures different textures and colors. I like to give them coloring pages when they need a break during homeschool. I also enjoy it when all 3 of my kids are having fun doing the same thing.

TIP: How to Enhance the St. Patrick’s Day Coloring Pages

When time allows, I like to give my children extra materials to give them more creative opportunities. Feel free to add glue, craft paper, green and gold glitter, pom poms, shamrock stickers, and other craft supplies to coloring time.

Why is Coloring Good for Kids?

While children add color to a b&w page, they are doing more than “just coloring.” Coloring pages let children practice valuable skills without feeling like a chore. As children color they are:

  • Working on fine motor skills
  • Practice hand-eye coordination
  • Making decisions
  • Being creative
  • Increases focus
