Have fun making Candy Corn Turkeys with your kids this Thanksgiving. It’s a no-bake, edible way to enjoy making turkeys that are almost too cute to eat following our easy directions, supply list, and video.

Thanksgiving is all about food and turkeys, so since it’s November, we combined the two to make a cute Thanksgiving snack with the kids. This no-bake turkey treat uses cookies, graham crackers, food coloring, and frosting.

They are easy to assemble and don’t require any melting, or heating, so when your children are done making them, they can take a bite right away.

My kiddos had so much fun making their Candy Corn turkeys! The pieces of candy corn make colorful turkey feathers and really give this treat a perfect Thanksgiving look!

What is a Food Craft?

A food craft is food that’s assembled like a craft using all edible things (no school glue please) and they make eating more fun!–in our opinion.

Can I tell you a secret? Food crafts are one of my favorite types of crafts to make with the kids because I don’t have to agonize over the decision to save the craft (and not hurt my kid’s feelings) or toss it (and hope they don’t see).

Yup, with food crafts my kids do the deciding for me and make whatever they crafted disappear in their belly–PERFECT!

Do I Have to Use Frosting?

If you want to add a bit of healthiness and protein to your Candy Corn Turkey you could use peanut butter or your favorite protein keto spread in place of frosting.

**Since peanut allergies can be severe, make sure to check with participants and parents before the day of the activity and do not bring peanut butter if anyone is allergic.**

Did they Use Marker on their Food??? (NO!!!)

Please don’t use regular markers on your food (ever) for safety reasons and good practice for kids. Instead, use food coloring markers like these Wilton FoodWriter Pens. They make Food Crafts so easy!

  • Graham Cracker Square
  • Candy Corn
  • Frosting
  • Vanilla Wafers
  • **Food Coloring PensS** or Frosting
  • Knife
  • Optional: Liquid Food Coloring

Directions:

You can watch our short tutorial video or read the directions below.

For your convenience, you can also print the recipe at the end of this post!

Optional: Mix food coloring into white frosting.

Put a dollop of frosting on the graham cracker. Spread the frosting across it so it’s smooth. You can use white frosting, chocolate frosting, or frosting that has been colored with food coloring.

Tip: Leave the frosting out 30 minutes-1 hour so it can get to room temperature before doing the activity to make it easier for little fingers to spread.

Draw a turkey face including the eyes, beak, and turkey wattle on the Vanilla Wafer using Food Coloring Pens. I love using these to make Food Crafts! If you don’t have them you can use colored frosting. I always keep little tubes of Black Frosting around.

Optional: Instead of drawing eyes you could use frosting to stick candy eyeballs on the Vanilla Wafer.

Stick the Vanilla Wafer towards the bottom part of the graham cracker. Remember to leave room for the candy corn feathers that will be placed at the top.

Stick candy corn above the top of the cookie to make the turkeys feathers. The candy corn fits together when the sides are lined up next to each other. We put 3-5 candy corn on each one.

Now it’s time to gobble them up. I hope you enjoy your cute Turkey Treats and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
