I always look forward to seeing the bright colors and smelling the fragrant aroma that arrives when spring flowers start popping out of the ground. There is one flower in particular that reminds me of Spring more than just about any other flower out there.
Tulips!
These beautiful, hardy flowers are practically the poster child for Springtime. In fact, tulips spend all winter waiting underground (even under snow) and then, once Spring weather moves in, they emerge from the ground. Because of this, they’re often associated with rebirth . . . which is the PERFECT way to describe Spring!
And with over 3,000 varieties of tulips, they come in just about every color you could possibly imagine. There’s even a variety called Queen of the Night that’s a deep purple that almost looks black. So as you make your tulip craft, you can’t go wrong using any color you desire.

How to make the Tulip Paper Flower Craft
For your convenience, you can watch a short video, or the full video tutorial on Youtube and print the directions from the bottom of this post.
Supplies:
- Tulip Template
- Scissors
- Glue
- Craft Paper
Directions:
Step 1: Print the Tulip Template Out
Print out the Tulip template. You can print the template on colored paper. I suggest using colored construction paper or thicker paper like card stock for some added durability to hold up to kid gluing.
- Flowers-Color of your choice
- Leaves and Stems-Green
- Flower Pot-Color of your choice (we chose light brown to look like a terra cotta pot)
Or you can also print the template out on white paper and let kids color it with crayons or markers.
Step 2: Glue the Tulip Craft Together
Glue the flower pot to the background paper, making sure to leave a pocket at the top of the flower pot
Glue the stems and leaves to the background paper. You can tuck the bottom of each stem underneath the flower pot to make it look like the stem is inside the pot.
Glue the tulip flower on top of the stems.
Your kids can get creative from here and add as many flowers as they would like, or maybe they want to write love notes on their tulip craft to give to friends and family, or hang up their tulip picture in their room or on the fridge to decorate the house.
I hope that you and your kids have a blast with this Spring crafting activity.
