Children will have FUN coloring and reading their own easy-reader Thanksgiving Day book.
Kids can learn to read this Thanksgiving with a fun and easy book. The book uses repetitive words and picture clues for beginning readers including Pilgrims, Native Americans, and other Thanksgiving images.
Simply choose which version you want to use, print, assemble, and watch your child enjoy reading.
The Thanksgiving Day Easy Reader book comes in two options. You can choose to print out the black-and-white coloring page version or the full color version. You may also want to add a Native American Handprint Craft and a Pete the Cat Mayflower Craft to complete your Thanksgiving Activities.
Little Tiger, who is just starting to read, found the book easy and challenging all at the same time. She loved being able to read new “big” words like Pilgrim and Native American. It is fun to hear her read and watch her feel proud of herself as she enters the world of reading.
Here is Little Tiger’s book.
Thanksgiving Color and Read Book
Print out the book on white paper. Set aside the cover page. Cut the remaining pages in half and assemble them in the order you want. Fold the cover page in half and place the pages of the book inside. Staple the book to secure the pages.
Preview of 6 pages out of 8. Not only does the book teach reading, but it can teach Thanksgiving history too!
I made a print-in-color version of the Thanksgiving Day Reader book for those who want to just concentrate on reading with their children.
The coloring-book version is made for those who want to turn this book into an activity.
Tip: I find that when my children make their own book and color it they enjoy reading it more. This can help children who don’t particularly like learning to read.
