While making their history map craft, they will see where the Central Pacific Railroad Company and the Union Pacific started and finished their work. Sacramento, California, Omaha, Nebraska, and Promontory Summit, Utah are all labeled on the map for children learn while using map skills. Students can easily make this craft as they color the map and train templates, then cut and glue it together. When the trains are glued to the map they will stand up, each facing the Promontory Summit, Utah. Students always love it when their crafts are 3 dimensional.
