We used two paper plates per craft so the basket could hold stuff inside. It would look so cute with Easter Grass, candy, or little Easter Toys tucked inside of it. This craft is great to make at home or at school so everyone could take their treats home in their basket. Of course, making a usable basket is optional, you can use just one plate for simplicity. It’s up to you.
See all our Easter Activities here including our Rabbit Holding Carrot Craft and Egg Emotion Faces.
Now the reason I say this craft is good for all ages is because all of my kids (ages 1-9) enjoyed making this craft (and I did too). The template is easy to use and fun for kids to decorate.
My littlest (Little Dog, age 1) had so much fun he took a break from decorating his Easter basket to painting his sister.
Tip: If you are worried about mess, you can use markers, crayons, or our favorite Quick Dry Tempera Paint Sticks .

Craft with us and watch our video tutorial or continue below to the directions and photos.
To make the front of the basket turn the paper plate upside down. Draw a half circle in the center of the plate and cut it out.
For the back of the basket, cut a second paper plate in half.
Let children decorate their basket. We used paint and washi tape.
To make the basket, staple the second paper plate onto the back of the basket. If you plan on filling it up with treats you should make the staples close together to close any holes.
Print the eggs, candy, and bow template out and let children decorate them with paint, markers, crayons, or other art supplies.
Cut the eggs and candy out and glue them inside the basket. Cut the bow out and glue it to the outside of the basket. If desired, fill the basket with Easter goodies.
Can you tell which one of my kids made each basket? I LOVE how each one turned out!
