This amazing set of alphabet road mats provides a fun and interactive way for children to learn how to write. Each letter includes a practice page, tracing lines, guiding arrows and stop signs, and phonics pictures for bonus learning.
I have always thought that Alphabet Roads looked like a fun and engaging way to teach children letters so I finally took the time to put some thought into making a wonderful set that can be used in many different ways, over and over again as children progress.

Start and Stop Symbols
The set starts out with a line tracing page and curve tracing page to so children can learn the gist of the mat like start at number 1, follow the arrows, and finish at the stop sign—Making it fun and easy for preschoolers to learn.
Including Letter Variations
As I was creating the letter mats, I realized that not all classrooms teach the same way to write some letters so I included variations of uppercase A, M, V, W and lowercase t and v. In all there are 62 pages.
I wanted to make the pages progressive so as students learn, the pages get more challenging. That way they can be used more than once and they can be used in a classroom with students who are at different stages.
Children can use the cars provided in the set. I attached the car to a paper straw for my son to use. I like how he could hold it like a pencil for writing practice, but didn’t freak out if he made a mistake because he wasn’t making marks on the page. The idea at the beginning stages of learning how to write letters is gaining hand control and muscle memory.
Another way to practice is with a toy car. This is a fun and interactive way for children to learn. The mats include arrows and numbers for the car to move along.
Once the mats are laminated or slipped into a dry erase pouch, children can use a dry erase marker to trace the lines.
Once they feel comfortable with tracing along the lines, the next step is to write the letters on their own at the bottom of the page.
