Watermelon Popsicle Stick Craft

With popsicle sticks, a splash of color, and our free printable template, kids can create their own watermelon craft.

✂️ What You’ll Need:

  • Free printable watermelon craft template (available to download at the end of this post)
  • 3 popsicle sticks per craft
  • Glue or glue dots
  • Scissors
  • Black marker or mini paper seeds for decorating
  • Green and red markers or crayons (if using black & white template)
  • Optional: Googly Eyes

Directions:

Step 1: Print the Template
Download and print the free watermelon craft template.

  • Option 1: Print it out on white paper and let kids use markers or crayons to color it.
  • Option 2: Print the template pieces on colored paper.

Step 2: Cut Out the Pieces
Cut out the red triangle “fruit” section and the green rectangle outer layer (that’s the rind!).

Step 3: Build the Triangle Base
Use three popsicle sticks to form a triangle. Paint two popsicle sticks red, or use already colored popsicle sticks. Glue the ends together and let dry for a minute or two.

  • Tip: For a faster, no-drying-time craft, use glue dots instead of liquid glue.

Step 4: Glue on the Watermelon
Glue the red triangle shape inside the popsicle stick frame. Then, glue the green rind along the outer edges to complete the look.
