The template includes two letter “M”s that are to go on either side of a yellow handprint to spell the word MOM (M, handprint for the letter O, M). She will think it’s adorable!
When making handprint crafts with toddlers and preschoolers, plan on making more then one handprint because it can take a few tries to get enough paint with full coverage on each little finger as well as get their tiny hand placed correctly on the paper with all 5 fingers showing. If you want, you can always skip the paint and trace their hands out on yellow paper. Whatever keeps both of you smiling will make Mom the happiest.
Tip: You can trace your child’s hand out with a pencil, instead of using paint to make the craft faster, easier, and less messy.
To decorate the card you can also add a green hill and two cute little clouds in the sky that are included in the template.
The inside of the card is blank for children, dad, grandma or grandpa to write a special note to Mom.
Tip: If your child is too young to write have them tell you what they want to say and write it down for them. They can also draw a picture of their favorite thing to do with Mom.

Directions:
Printable directions and the craft template are available towards the end of this post. For your convenience, you may watch the video tutorial to know how to make it.
Print the hill on green paper. You only need one hill per craft so you can choose which template you want to use.
Print the clouds and letter “M”s on white paper.
Make a handprint by painting your child’s hand with yellow paint and stamping it on a white piece of paper. You may need to make a few to get the perfect handprint or you can place their hand on a yellow piece of paper and trace it out with a pencil. When the paint is dry, cut it out.
Fold the blue piece of paper in half (hamburger style) so the top touches the bottom.
Glue the hill to the bottom of the card and cut off any excess green paper from the sides of the card.
Find the center of the hill and tuck a tiny piece of the handprint (bottom of palm) underneath the hill so it looks like the sun is rising from behind it.
Cut out two letter “M”s and glue them to each side of the handprint to make the word Mom.
Cut out the clouds and glue them on the blue paper.
Finish the card by having your child add a special message or drawing to the inside. Dad can also put in a few words to make the card even more special. Thanks for crafting with us. I hope you have a Happy Mother’s Day!
