Snow is one of the “coolest” sensory play supplies ever because it falls from the sky in what often feels like an endless (free) supply of play material! This winter we have received plenty of snow to play with and since last year was such a snow bust I have been waiting a whole year to try some of these colorful, artistic, and creative icy activities with the kids that can be done indoors our outside. Let’s hurry and try them all before the snow melts! When you look outside if you don’t see snow don’t worry because if you have a snow cone machine you can make your own snow or you can freeze water and play with ice (check out the ice play ideas below).

With my kids being sick lately (boo for winter colds). I decided to bring the snow indoors for them to play with. Our most recent creative snow activities included shapes, painting, life skills and fine motor skills. My daughter loves to eat snow so before we started I made sure to remind her not to eat the snow from the activity, then we began and the kids had so much fun they even smiled while they are sick-Yay!
