Make a Christmas charcuterie board and you’ll be in a festive mood at the table. It’s a nice way for family and friends to snack on something sweet, salty, and savory during Christmas gatherings, giving guests a snack that’s not full of sugar. Serve it with crackers, pretzels, or other snack worthy food, and your Christmas table will be complete.
Christmas time is so full of sugary treats, this Santa Charcuterie cheese platter is a nice change… It looks fancy enough that you could find it in the wine country, with cheese, sliced meats, and fruits, while looking fun enough to appeal to kids with bite-sized snacks that are ready to be nibbled on.

Charcuterie Board or Butter Board?
The directions below give you the how-to to make a Charcuterie board with hummus or a butter board with butter that can be spread on crackers or bread.
Charcuterie boards are so popular now because they make serving and eating snacks yummy and cute! They come in all different designs and can be themed to match your event.
They typically include little serving accessories and the boards come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.
Ingredient Exchanges
You can always switch the ingredients up to match your guests. Add nuts for your friends that are nutty (avoid nuts if your guests have nut allergies).
Add prosciutto for your fancy friends or tone it down and add pepperoni for the kids.
Cheese comes in so many flavors, choose your favorite or add a whole bunch of different kinds… make it kid-friendly with cheddar cheese or extra fancy ith brie.
Looking for less butter? In place of butter a butter board, use a flat dish of hummus or another tan colored dip.
We used Black (lemon) cheese to add some black to Santa’s outfit. If you can’t get your hands on some use olives, as the directions suggest.
How to Make a Santa Charcuterie Board:
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Sticks of Butter (12 tbs) (Optional: Replace with Hummus)
- 3 tbsp. Cream Cheese Softened
- 3 oz Thinly Sliced Salami or Pepperoni Slices
- Slice of White Cheese
- 2-4 Sticks of Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
- Olives
Optional:
- Sliced tomato
- Kiwi
- Tangerine
- Green Grapes
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Crackers
- Pretzels
- Sliced cheese
Make Circles
Place the butter in the center of the board and form a circle. This will be Santa’s face.
Place the cream cheese in a pastry bag and squeeze it on top of the circle to make the fluffy part of Santa’s hat.
Cut the ends of the mozzarella sticks to make thin circles. Arrange them in the shape of a “beard” at the bottom of Santa’s face. Cut two pieces out to use as the “whiskers”.
Cut the slices of salami into half-circles. Lay them in a triangle shape to make Santa’s hat.
Make Santa’s Face
Cut an olive in half and place the two pieces onto Santa’s face to make his eyes.
Cut a tomato in half and scoop out the juice and seeds. Cut a circle out and place it on Santa’s face to make his nose.
Cut triangles out of the sliced cheese to make Santa’s mustache.
Make Santa’s Belt
Place a square slice of cheese underneath Santa’s beard. Place olives on top of the cheese to make the belt buckle.
Add black olives on the side of the belt buckle.
Decorate the Charcuterie Board
Add the rest of the ingredients you’ve chosen.
