Here is a quick and easy craft to do for Easter that is toddler friendly. I had been trying to think of an Easter craft that I haven’t seen before and kept seeing directions on how to decorate Easter eggs everywhere and I thought, “Why not use the egg to do the decorating instead!” I put some paint in our egg tray and let my daughter go at it. She had a blast, and I think her artwork is egg-specially good! 🙂

Paint WITH Easter Eggs

By painting WITH the eggs, the eggs got painted anyway, and it turned into a fun process art activity. Process art helps kids and toddlers feel free to express themselves without the limits of lines or expectations. By using the egg to paint, we also flipped the norm for decorating and painting Easter eggs. What can normally be hard for toddlers (balancing the egg, waiting for it to soak up color, leaving it alone while it dries) turns into an activity where they are getting messy and being a fun part of the process.

Of course they don’t know any of that. All they see is a silly activity where they get to be messy and their own creative selves! This was such a fun activity to explore and experiment with process art and get our eggs painted!

Pin me please! 🙂

Paint WITH Easter Eggs

Directions:
1.  Put paint out and let kids roll Easter eggs in it, then roll the eggs on their paper to make a picture.

I used my egg serving tray as a paint pallet. I normally only use it for Deviled Eggs, and now I have two uses for it. 🙂
