- Letter manipulatives (We used our Unifix Letter Set–we love them!)
- Paper bowl
- Packing peanuts (We used the biodegradable ones, but found out they melted with glue so I suggest regular packing peanuts or cotton balls)

Build an Igloo
Cut out a door in the paper bowl.
Have children glue packing peanuts onto the bowl to make the igloo.
For an extra engineering challenge you can let children attempt to build their own igloo without the paper bowl. We originally used bio-degradable packing peanuts for this activity but found out that was a mistake because our igloo met the fate of every igloo and melted from the water in the glue. If you aren’t a fan of packing peanuts you could also use sugar cubes, marshmallows, puff balls, or whatever you have on hand.

I is for Igloo Craft
Print the craft template (available below for free) out on white paper.
Have children cut out the pieces for the letter I and glue them onto a blue piece of paper.
Have children cut out the igloo, color or decorate it, and then glue it onto their letter craft.
