Little Tiger (preschooler) just graduated her first swim class and I am so proud of her, especially because on day one we left early after a huge tantrum and lots of tears. I have to admit there was bribing involved, but I felt it necessary because water safety is obviously very important! Graduating has given her a sense of independence in the pool, and yet even though she tries, she is still physically unable to keep her body afloat.
I am determined to take the kids swimming frequently this summer so she can continue to practice, but she is 4 and doesn’t want mommy to hold onto her like a baby. We tested out Stearns Puddle Jumpers Life Jackets as an alternative to plastic water wings (which are not allowed at our local pool) and I have to tell you that the Puddle Jumpers Life Jacket is perfect! I know this post is sponsored, but it has no sway on my opinion and I have photos of our recent trip to the pool to prove just how nicely it worked.
My daughter was able to practice the new things she learned in swim class like floating on her back and tummy, moving her arms, and kicking her legs without any difficulty. At one point she asked for her Puddle Jumpers Life Jacket to be removed and as she realized she couldn’t play as freely or in the deep end of the pool, she quickly asked to have it put back on.
