It’s officially fall, and we’re making sure to enjoy all the colors of the season! Orange, brown, yellow, and red inspire so many fun crafts. Today, we’re sharing a simple and beautiful leaf art activity. Plus, we have 10 more fall art projects that are perfect for toddlers and also engaging for older kids. I love that my children can do the same activity even though they are at very different stages of development.
We feel so lucky to live near mountains full of vibrant fall leaves. Recently, we went on a little adventure to collect natural supplies for our crafts. Ms. Tiger discovered tons of fuzzy caterpillars, while Mr. Tickles threw rocks into the river. Meanwhile, I gathered leaves, acorns, and twigs. They were too busy having fun to think about the art projects, which made the day even more special!
Fall Leaf Collage
Bright and colorful art collage using beautiful fall leaves.
Supplies:
- Insert from 24 count of eggs or Cardboard
- Leaves and nature finds
- Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Glue
Directions:
1. Paint egg carton and glue on nature finds. It’s as simple as that!
The kids loved painting their egg carton. It offered so many spots to paint compared to a plain piece of paper.
I gave each kid a lid full of clear school glue, they dipped their leaves covering them completely with glue, then placed it on their carton. The clear glue made the leaves look pretty and shiny after it dried.

Hi Heather, thanks so much. I really love fall in Utah, but when winter hits I wish I was back in CA.
Love simple crafts like this one! Good tip about using the clear glue; I'm sure that adds just a touch of shine to make it that much more special.
