DIY Tear Free Bath Foam

Fabulous Friday! We have had a bubble and soapy kind of week and we are finishing it off with more bubbles that you don’t have to worry about cleaning up because it all goes down the drain.

When Ms. Tiger was a toddler I saw pictures of kids playing with shaving cream during bath time and decided to give it a try. I squirted some on her tray and let her play. Things where going great until she decided to rub her eyes, then all that was fun went out the door. Her eyes turned red, she started crying, and she kept rubbing her eyes perpetuating the problem. I felt like a horrible mom and swore never again to let her play with shaving cream (maybe now that she is older I can reconsider).

Since Mr. Tickles is a toddler and they bathe together we still don’t play with shaving cream in the tub, but to replace it I decided to whip up some tear free bath foam for them. It is so fast to make and the kids LOVED it. I know your kids will love it too. Here is how:

Supplies:
Tear free soap/shampoo
Hand blender
Water
Food coloring (optional)
Paint brushes (optional)

Directions:
1.  Mix 1 part soap to 2 parts water and food coloring (optional) in a bowl. Blend until foamy then let kids play. Simple as that! I took our hand blender in the bathroom with us and blended it there on the spot (safely away from the tub because electronics & water don’t mix). The kids loved it so much I made three batches in one bath time.

The soap doubled in size once whipped
I gave them paint brushes and they painted everything;
the tub wall, the bath toys, their bodies…it was one of the quietest
bath times because they where so busy being creative.

Now, the kids didn’t get any in their eye and for a brief moment I was slightly disappointed because I wanted to reassure you that it was indeed tear free. Because you would think me a horrible mother if I put soap in my kids eyes I refrained, but I can guarantee it will be way less irritating then shaving cream.

What a fun way to get messy and creative
without having to worry about the mess!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Great idea! My kids love shaving cream, but I always make sure they know not to put it on their face, and none of them ever has! They do love bubbles too, so we need to make some soap foam! So much to do; so little time!

This is such a cute idea. I have to pretty much beg my 3 year old to take a bath. Maybe this will change her mind… Thanks!

Hi Missi, I hope she enjoys it and it helps motivate her to take baths…We have also tried putting submersible lights in the tub and the kids love them 🙂
