Kids can make a paper plate dandelion craft that will “poof” right off the page as they practice scissor skills this summer. Dandelions are one of my kid’s favorite plants because they love making wishes, they can pick them out of anyone’s yard without getting in trouble, and we are really good at growing them (haha). So to honor summer, wishes, and crafting, we made this cute craft to decorate our wall this summer.
Summer is a great time to practice scissor skills before sending kids off to school. That way when they are in school all the craft projects they make will be more fun and less challenging because they will already know how to use scissors. For more practice, they can make a Paper Sun Craft.

Directions:
Draw leaves and stem and cut it out. You or your child can do this part depending on their skill level.
Have your child fringe the outside of the paper plate by cutting towards the center. You may want to draw lines on the paper plate for them to follow or draw a circle in the middle so they know where to stop.
Once they are done cutting pull up some of the fringe to make the dandelion pop out.
Let your child glue the stem, leaves, and top of the dandelion to their background paper. Now you are ready to make a wish!
