Popcorn is popping and the leaves on our tree craft are bright, colorful, and popping off the paper with this simple fall craft activity for kids! The nice thing about this craft project is there is no right or wrong way to make it, so kids are free to create as they wish which always results in the best art projects in my opinion! My kid’s surprised me with how they chose to decorate their trees–if you look at them you can see their tree telling a story about the season.

Colorful Fall Tree Popcorn Craft
Supplies:
Popcorn
Craft paint
Glue
White paper or any color for the background
Scissors
Plastic bag
Directions:
To color the popcorn squirt a little bit of craft paint in a plastic bag, add some popcorn, close the bag securely, and shake it. Empty the bag and let the popcorn dry. Not all of the popcorn ended up with paint on it which I think gives our trees dimension and it also made sure that the popcorn didn’t turn into a soggy mess.
Have child cut out a tree trunk and glue it to the background paper.
Have child glue popcorn to their tree. Little Tiger decided to add popcorn leaves below the top of the tree to look like they are falling down–so creative! Little Dragon chose to add just a little bit of leaves because the rest of them already fell off which is happening in our backyard right now.
Set the craft aside to dry, and then hang up to decorate this fall. While you are here you may also enjoy our 4 Seasons Nature Tree Craft and our free 4 Seasons Tree Printable.
