Christmas is coming, so let’s countdown the days together with this FREE printable Christmas advent calendar. It’s a fun family activity and a perfect way to help kids keep track of the days in December as they wait in anticipation.
This Christmas countdown calendar keeps things simple for you, no extra supplies are needed, simply print and hang it up and the kids can do the rest. As each day passes they will add a Christmas ornament to their tree. When Christmas day arrives they will place the Christmas star on the top of the tree.

Why are Christmas Advent Calendars Good for Kids?
With so much anticipation (and anxiety) kids experience during the holiday season, using a Christmas advent calendar helps them keep track of the days until Christmas and gives them a tool to manage their emotions during this very exciting time of year.
Make One Advent Calendar for the Family, or One for Each Person
Since this is a FREE download, you can print as many advent calendars as you would like. So each family member can have their own calendar to use, or you can print one for the whole family, and take turns marking off the days.
What Ornaments Do You Want to Use?
The DIY advent calendar comes with 3 options of Christmas ornaments that you can use. One set is ornaments with cute Christmas pictures like candy canes, gingerbread, Santa, and more.
The other two sets are red or green numbers. These sets are fun to use if you want your child to practice matching numbers as they find the right spot on the Christmas tree.
You could also use craft items like pom poms or buttons, in place of the printable ornaments that are in the set.
You Can Make Your Own Sticker Ornaments to Stick to the Christmas Advent Calendar
You don’t have to, but you can… The printable advent calendar comes with ornaments that kids stick on their Christmas Tree each day. If you print the ornaments out on printer friendly sticker paper you can avoid glue. This is particularly fun for kids who love stickers!

Christmas Tree FREE Printable Advent Calendar for Kids

Directions:
Print the Christmas Tree Advent Calendar page out. You can choose to print it out on green paper, or print it out on white paper and have your child color the tree green with a crayon or colored pencil.
Christmas Ornaments:
- Option 1: Print the countdown Christmas ornaments out on paper. Each day cut out an ornament and glue it onto the tree.
- Option 2: Print the countdown Christmas ornament out on printer friendly sticker paper. Each day cut out the ornament and stick it onto the tree.
Note: The Christmas ornaments are small. Young children may need help cutting out the ornaments.
