5 Little Pumpkins Float and Sink Halloween Sensory Bottle

When Halloween time comes along you know 5 Little Pumpkins will be sitting on a gate and rolling down the street, so before they could get very far we gathered them together and stuck them inside a bottle (gasp!). While playing with this sensory bottle kids can explore sinking and floating (will the pumpkins float?) as they watch the objects move around while singing “5 Little Pumpkins,” this Halloween season.

Supplies:

Clear container with lid (We love using VOSS Plastic Bottles–affiliate link)

Small Craft Sticks-affiliate link

5 Pumpkin Erasers–Link to product

Directions:

Place 5 pumpkin erasers, and a handful of craft sticks inside the container. Fill with water and secure tightly. If you are worried about kids opening the bottle you can add some super glue to the lid for a more permanent bottle.

When we first put the popsicle sticks in they all floated. After a few days some of the popsicle sticks had absorbed enough water that they sunk to the bottom. My kid’s like watching the pumpkins roll out of sight as they sing along with the song.
