I love our Ruby Red Italian Cream Sodas because they are so easy (and inexpensive) to make and look super fancy without any fuss! The drink has two layers which I think make it over-the-top cute. I was nervous they were going to be hard to make as I remembered trying to make 3 layered cappuccinos during my high school working days. So when the two layers turned out perfect my first try, I did a little happy dance. They are perfect for Valentine’s Day or even the Fourth of July and Christmas. I just love how the color red goes with so many holidays!

My kid’s were thrilled when I placed their Italian Soda’s in front of them.  I could tell they felt pretty special and it helped motivate them to eat their lunch so they could enjoy their drinks. (If I would have let them drink it before their lunch they would have been too full to eat). My daughter went for a refills and made her own drink the second time. Her drink turned out perfect and she was just as excited about the layers as I was :).

I made some heart shaped milk hearts using a heart shaped ice cube tray to add a special Valentine’s Day touch.

Directions:
1.  Place ice in cup and fill with soda remembering to leave some room at the top for the cream.

2.  Gently float the heavy whipping cream on the top of the soda.

3.  Top with whipped cream and it’s ready to enjoy! Mmmmm…
