New Years is all about celebrating and bringing in the new year with a bang. To help kids do it in the loudest way possible, we made some New Years Celebration Shakers using recycled fruit cups. They are super easy to make and fun to play with. We put different items in each one to explore the different sounds we could make (sensory play). We love dancing and playing with our shakers, and can’t wait to use them when the clock strikes 12.

I left ours clear because I think it is fun to see what’s inside and watch it move around, but you could spray paint them. I love Krylon for Plastic (affiliate link) when spray painting fruit cups.
Supplies:
Hot glue gun/glue (for parents)
Ribbon
A pair of empty fruit cups per shaker
Small items to put inside shaker
- Suggested items:
- Rice

- Sequins
- Noodles
Directions:
1. Fill the bottom of one cup with small items. Let child pick out what they want in their shaker.
