Thanks to a bout of good weather this spring we have been outside observing lots and lots of bugs and I have good news to report that the ladybugs from last year have returned and have already started laying eggs (see our Instagram picture of a ladybug laying eggs here). Since Little Tiger has been working on learning her color words and bugs come in all sorts of colors I thought I would make her and Little Dragon a bug book that they could color and read together to add to our Catch a Bug Printable Math Activity. The words in the book are simple and repetitive to work on the sight words the, bug, and is (but I also included a version with the names of the bugs–spider, bee, butterfly, ladybug, grasshopper and so forth). The book also comes in two other versions with bubble letters or pre-writing tracing letters so you can choose which book you want to use considering your child’s skill level and the amount of time you have to make the book. It’s been too long since we made a Printable Homemade Book because once they are made my kids love reading them to everyone they see which works great for no-BUGgin’-needed reading practice!
