How to Make the G.O.A.T. Handprint Card
Supplies Needed:
- Free printable template (download at the end of this post)
- Blue and White cardstock or printer paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils (for B&W version)
- Paint and paintbrush (for handprint version)
Directions:

Prep: Print your chosen template and fold the card template in half. Cut out the craft templates.
- Full Color Version
- Black & White (Coloring Book Style)
- No Handprint Needed Version-uses the goat template in place of the handprint
- If using the handprint version, paint your child’s hand and stamp it on white cardstock. Let it dry, then cut it out. I like to “bubble cut” around it-leaving some space around the edge of the paint.
- Glue the grass to the bottom of the card. Glue the handprint on and tuck the feet (fingertips) under the grass if needed to make the goat fit better. Glue the head on the goat body. Glue the clouds in the sky.
- Write a special message inside for Dad!
Tips for Crafting Your G.O.A.T. Handprint Card:
- Use washable paint for the handprint — it makes cleanup easier and keeps stress low!
- Practice the handprint on a scrap piece of paper first to get the right amount of paint.
- Let the handprint dry completely before gluing on the goat pieces to avoid smudging.
- If using markers or crayons on the black & white version, color before cutting for easier handling.
- To make your card extra special, write a message inside like:
“Dad, you’re the GOAT because…” and let your child fill in the rest. - For older kids, skip the handprint version and use the pre-drawn goat template — it’s still handmade and heartfelt!
- Want to make it sturdier? Print on cardstock or glue the finished card onto construction paper.
