🐐 Why We Love this Goat Card

Not only is this craft adorable, but it’s also filled with punny love. The front of the card reads:

“DAD (D, Goat Craft, D) – You’re G.O.A.T.ED, Greatest Of All Times!”

It’s a heartfelt and hilarious message that’s sure to make Dad smile — whether your child is 3 or 13.

As a mom of both little ones and big kids, I love how this craft grows with them. Even my older kids, whose hands are too big for handprint crafts, still enjoy putting together something handmade for Dad. That’s why the no-handprint version is such a great alternative for grown up kids — thoughtful, funny, and still totally frame-worthy.

  2. Black & White (Coloring Book Style)
Great for creative kids who love to color! Let them customize their card by coloring in the letters and goat pieces before assembling.
  3. No Handprint Needed Version
This template includes a pre-printed goat image in place of the handprint, making it ideal for:
    • Older kids whose hands no longer fit on the card (but still want to make Dad something special)
    • Last-minute crafting
    • Classroom or group activities with limited time

  • Black & White (Coloring Book Style)
  • No Handprint Needed Version-uses the goat template in place of the handprint
  • If using the handprint version, paint your child’s hand and stamp it on white cardstock. Let it dry, then cut it out. I like to “bubble cut” around it-leaving some space around the edge of the paint.

Tips for Crafting Your G.O.A.T. Handprint Card:

  • Use washable paint for the handprint — it makes cleanup easier and keeps stress low!
  • Practice the handprint on a scrap piece of paper first to get the right amount of paint.
  • Let the handprint dry completely before gluing on the goat pieces to avoid smudging.
  • If using markers or crayons on the black & white version, color before cutting for easier handling.
  • To make your card extra special, write a message inside like:
“Dad, you’re the GOAT because…” and let your child fill in the rest.
  • For older kids, skip the handprint version and use the pre-drawn goat template — it’s still handmade and heartfelt!
  • Want to make it sturdier? Print on cardstock or glue the finished card onto construction paper.
