New Year’s Pretzel Rod Sparklers Recipe

Sweet, salty, and sparkling! These 3-ingredient pretzel rods are an easy, festive treat for New Year’s celebrations.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 Large pretzel rods
  • 8 oz Chocolate or almond bark 
  • Assorted gold sprinkles and gold colored granulated sugar sprinkles

Equipment

  • Microwave safe bowl or Electric Chocolate Melting Pot
  • Spoon
  • Parchment Paper 
  • Baking Sheet
  • Airtight container or tray

Method
 

  1. Line parchment paper on a baking sheet.
  2. Melt chocolate in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, then microwave for an additional 30 seconds, and stir again until the chocolate is fully melted.
    Optional: To make this more kid friendly, use a Electric Chocolate Melting Pot that controls the temperature. My kids use ours all the time!
  3. Use a spoon to drip the chocolate onto the pretzel rod. I find it easiest to run the chocolate down the length of the rod, and then rotate the rod to repeat until the rod is fully covered. Hold the pretzel rod above the bowl to allow an extra chocolate to drip off before setting it on the parchment paper. 
  4. Add sprinkles as desired while the chocolate is still wet. Allow the chocolate to fully set before serving.
