Heart Painting with Marshmallow Stamps Kids Activity

his Marshmallow Heart Stamp Painting activity is the perfect way to get creative while celebrating Valentine’s Day or any special occasion!

Materials

  • Marshmallows (the larger, the better!)
  • Paint (red, pink, and white for Valentine’s Day)
  • A piece of paper
  • A paintbrush (optional, if you want to paint the marshmallow beforehand)
  • A small plate or dish (to pour the paint into)
  • Optional: Washi tape or masking tape (optional, for creating fun borders or designs) Markers for drawing, Glitter, Stickers

Instructions

  • Prep Your MarshmallowsCut the marshmallow into a heart by cutting a large V at the bottom of your marshmallow and a small V at the top of your marshmallow. You can dip marshmallow heart in powder sugar or flour so the sides won't be sticky. Now it's ready to paint with.
Dip the marshmallow into a color of paint. You can either stamp the marshmallow in the paint or use a paintbrush to cover the surface. Kids can use one color, or dip parts of the marshmallow in multiple colors.
Stamp the Heart ShapePress the marshmallow onto your paper, and gently press down to create a heart shape. You can experiment with how hard you press to get different effects, and you can make several hearts on your paper to fill up the page with fun prints.
Add Extra Fun!Get creative with your artwork! Use optional art supplies to add more decorations to your paper.
Let It DryOnce you’re done stamping, let the painting dry for a little while. If you like, you can add more details with markers, glitter, or stickers to make it extra special.
