Keyword: Christmas, Craft

Materials

  • Christmas Tree Paper Loop Craft Template (single craft or classroom set)
  • Green, brown, and yellow construction paper or cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick, glue tape, or stapler
  • Background paper (white, blue, or red looks great!)
  • Paint markers, crayons, or stickers for decorating

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Template-Print out the craft template. Cut out the tree trunk and star pieces. Glue the trunk to your background paper to create the base of the tree.
  • Step 2: Cut the Paper Strips-Next, cut several strips of green paper for your tree branches. For best results, make each strip about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. You can cut more or fewer depending on how full you want your tree to look.
  • Step 3: Make the Paper Loops-Take one paper strip and bring both ends together to form a loop. Secure it with glue, tape, or a stapler. Then glue the loop to your paper, starting at the bottom of your tree and working your way up.
  • Step 4: Build Your Tree-Add more paper loops in layers, overlapping them slightly as you go. The more loops you use, the fuller and more 3D your tree will look!
  • Step 5: Add the Star and Decorate-Glue the yellow star to the top of your tree. Then use paint markers, crayons, or stickers to decorate your tree with ornaments, garland, and lights. Don’t forget to add details to the background—maybe falling snow or wrapped presents underneath!
