Thing 1 and Thing 2 Dr. Seuss Inspired Bookmark Craft with FREE Template
Follow the directions to make a Thing 1 and Thing 2 bookmark that will hang out in the corner of your book's.

- White paper
- Red and Blue craft paper
- Glue
- Black Felt Tip Pen (a black sharpie would work)
- Scissors
- Tape
- Optional: Pencil – to trace the template
Step 1: Prepare the Template Single Craft Template: Print the template out on white paper, cut the template pieces out, and use your pencil to trace the body template on red paper and the hair template on blue paper.orClassroom Set Template: Print the template pages out, and then cut out the template pieces by following the straight guidelines. Face and Circle is printed on white paper, the Body is printed on red paper, the Hair is printed on blue paper. Step 2: Cut out the PiecesHave your children cut out the craft pieces. This takes fine motor skills and some children may need assistance. The rectangles are fairly easy to cut but the hair requires scalloped edges. Tip: Show children how to hold their scissors in one hand, and use their other hand to control the movement of the paper as they cut. Step 3: Make the Bookmark Corner Cut out the "easy fold" corner bookmark template. Fold along the dashed lines to make the corner. Tape the two edges together to make the corner pocket. If you have extra tape, fold it under along the inside of the bookmark or cut it off. or Fold an origami style bookmark. We have not made that style, but there are plenty of tutorials on line using a 16 cm X 16 cm piece of origami paper. Step 4: Decorate the BookmarkTurn the bookmark over so the folded corner pocket is touching the table. Put the folded corner at the top. Glue the blue hair towards the top corner.Glue the red body onto the craft.Glue the white face and white circle onto the craft.Use the pen to draw a face and decorate Thing 1 and Thing 2's shirt. Once the glue has dried, your Thing 1 and Thing 2 bookmark is ready to enjoy holding your spot in your current read. Repeat if you want to make a pair since twins come in 2s.
