Ghost Footprint Halloween Kids Craft and Free Template

How to make a Halloween Ghost Footprint Craft with kids.
Total Time15 minutes
Keyword: Craft, Halloween

Materials

  • Boo Ghost Craft Template
  • White Paint (We use White Acrylic Paint for handprint and footprint crafts because it is usually thicker and makes a better print.)
  • Black Cardstock (We like using Black Cardstock for durability when painting and gluing)
  • Paint Brush
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Black Marker

Instructions

  • Cut out the words "Happy Halloween" and glue them to the top or the bottom of the page.
  • Cut the letter "B" out from the template and glue it onto your black craft paper. Place it to the left of the page making sure to leave room for the two footprint ghosts that will make the "O's" in the word Boo.
  • Make the footprints by coating your child's foot with white paint. Try to make a nice even coat. Then help them gently press their foot on black paper. If you are making the prints directly onto the craft paper, make sure they are towards the right of the paper, next to the letter "B".
  • Tip: If you are not sure the footprints are going to turn out the first time you should make the prints on an extra piece of black paper and then cut them out and glue them onto the craft. That way you can be sure to use a footprint with all (or most) of the toes and you can cut off any extra paint blobs. Once the footprints are dry, cut them out. I like to "bubble cut" and leave an edge around the footprint like a frame.
  • Kids can use the black marker to draw a face on their ghost.
  • Now your craft is ready to be hung on the wall for a Happy Halloween!

Notes

Have paper towels or baby wipes on hand to wipe off paint so your kids can make it to the bathroom to give their feet a good scrub.
