Math with red, white, and blue stars is perfect for the kids to learn during Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Flag Day and during those times when you need a Patriotic Craft & Activity (feel free to salute :). This printable set comes with spinner activities, 10 frames, counting, addition and subtraction activities so kids can learn while playing. Since my kids are at two different levels I like to make similar activities so they can learn together and progress.

I am a sucker for the dollar bins at Target (seriously, can’t leave the store without something from that section in my cart) I recently grabbed two bags of mini star erasers that are red, white, and blue. They work perfectly with these printables but if you don’t have a Target close by (or are able to resist Target dollar bins) you could use puff balls, Mini Star Buttons-affiliate link, or Rhinestones-affiliate link.

To assemble the spinner activities I suggest laminating them first because they have an area where kids can write numbers with a dry erase marker (We use Crayola Washable Dry Erase Markers-affiliate link)  because they wipe off easily). Once laminated punch a hole in the center of the circle (I used a screw to poke and twist a hole into the printable). Secure a Metal Brad-affiliate link to the center and add something to spin like an arrow or paperclip.

Little Dragon liked spinning his spinner and counting out the stars until his 10-frames chart was completely full. He used the printable with numbers 1-20 written on the frames to work on his number recognition.

Little Tiger used the addition math mat with a set of red stars and a set of blue stars. She would spin the spinner, write the number, and count out the red stars, then she would spin the spinner again and count out the blue stars. Once all the stars where on her mat she counted them together and wrote down the total.
