Children can paint a flower and learn with our free printable activity pack inspired by The Tiny Seed. This is a perfect activity for spring or summer.
Today’s activities for kids are centered on seeds, flowers, and spring! Since we love Book Inspired Activities we read The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle and then grabbed a potato and started painting (potatoes are a perfect petal shaped stamp). We also practiced pre-writing, sequencing, and visual discrimination with our free printable mini pack to go along with the book.

The Tiny Seed (The World of Eric Carle)-affiliate link by Eric Carle is all about the adventure of the smallest seed as it travels with its friends on their quest to grow. As kids read they can learn what a seed must have or not have in order to grow–with all the perils the seeds face it’s amazing that the tiny seed turns out so big and beautiful!

I think the last pages of The Tiny Seed was the inspiration behind my childhood book I titled “The Glowing Flower” that I illustrated and narrated when I was little with the help of my mom (such a great activity for little learners–have them make a book). In my book most of the pages said, ” and it glowed, and it glowed, and it glowed some more.” Thanks Eric Carle for the inspiration–then and now :).
