Children will have holiday fun making a 3D Christmas ornament craft with noodles, paint, and white crayon that’s inspired by Dr. Seuss and the Grinch. They look like they belong on a tree in Whoville.

So the fun whimsical pictures in How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss is the inspiration behind today’s craft. As I was staring at my pantry (everyone’s first spot to look for craft supplies right…?) I spotted my large shell noodles and thoughts they looked like a Christmas ornament right out of the pages of Dr. Seuss’s book. I pulled out some supplies and we started crafting.

The Grinch Stole Christmas Painted Noodle Craft for Kids

“The Grinch Stole Christmas is one of my all-time favorite Christmas stories and movies. I love how Dr. Suess gets straight to the point with his rhymes to the true meaning of Christmas-LOVE. “

When I pull this book out of our December Book Box, it reminds me of my mom because the copy I have came from her classroom. I’m pretty sure it is close to an “original” copy and is in black and white but did you know that they now print How the Grinch Stole Christmas!: in Full Color (affiliate link).

They also make a The Grinch’s Great Big Flap Book (affiliate link) to entertain younger children with a shorter story and interactive pages. I know Little Pup (age 3) will love this book.

Directions:

1.  Paint the shells with the glitter glue and let them dry. On Ms. Tiger’s ornaments we added several coats as it dried to get a real glittery look. Set them on top of wax paper to dry. The more glitter glue, the longer it will take to dry.

2.  Use the white crayon to draw on the black paper.
