Have fun making a paper plate turkey for Thanksgiving. Following our EASY folding trick, kids will LOVE the 3D feathers!

To start our Thanksgiving activities we got out the paints and added another Paper Plate Craft to our list of fun things to do. The kids enjoyed painting their paper plates and watching it transform into a turkey with 3D Feathers, just by making a few cuts and folds. It’s easy, I’ll show you how.

Paper Plate Turkey Craft

If you like our Paper Plate Turkey Craft I would love for you to pin it! It helps others discover it too, which helps us bring you more awesome content like this!

Turkey Paper Plate Kids Craft for Thanksgiving

Supplies:

Craft paint
Googly eyes
Craft paper
Paper plate
Paintbrush
Glue
Scissors

Directions:

1.  Paint the front side of the paper plate red in the middle and orange on the outside. Paint the backside edge of the paper plate yellow. Set aside to dry.

2.  Cut along the inside edge of the paper plate (between the red and orange paint) and fold it up so the follow side can be seen. I helped the kids with the cutting part of this step.

3.  Cut out a brown circle for the face, brown legs, and an orange triangle for the beak. You could also use red paper to cut out a waddle (which I am just realizing as I write this up that it might have been nice to add :). Glue parts on the circle to make it look like a turkey. Glue the face and legs to the red part on the paper plate.

Optional: Cut the edge of the paper plates to fringe it to look like feathers. Little Tiger always loves fringing, it always surprises me at how dedicated she is to making so many little cuts. Little Dragon chose not to fringe.

If you need more turkey crafts, last year we used markers and coffee filters to make Brightly Colored Turkeys. This craft doesn’t need paint so it is less messy and easy enough for toddlers to make one too.
