For our letter N activities we made a star and moon letter craft that you can make too using our free printable pattern, a sparkly starry night painting that is easy enough preschoolers and toddlers can do, and played a preschool math game to introduce addition while working on pre-writing skills. If that wasn’t enough for today, I also have a letter N sight word printable that you can grab too. So let’s begin today’s fun! 🙂

Starry Night Water Color Painting

After making our beautiful Colored Salt Painting, we have been using more salt in our art projects because the results are so unique and stunning.
Objectives: Creativity, Process art
Supplies:
Craft paper
Black water color paint
Paint brush
Coarse salt
Yellow food coloring gel
Glitter (optional)
Directions:
1.  Color the salt by mixing some yellow food coloring into it until it is completely colored.
2.  With the water colors, paint your craft paper black.
3.  Quickly sprinkle the salt onto the paper then sprinkle glitter on if you want. (Our glitter didn’t stick the best, but it was still fun to use and looked pretty while it lasted. My daughter adds glitter to every craft project she can :). The salt moves the black paint around, making a cool effect.
