Lately we have been busy trying out new ways of dyeing Easter eggs and have a ton rolling around our house. It was time for us to make a basket to put them all in. I love this basket because it is easy and made from an upcycled milk container!

I told Little Tiger we were going to make an Easter basket and she says in the most excited little voice, “To get candy?” She was a bit disappointed when I told her it was just for eggs and that the Easter bunny would be bringing the candy later.

Supplies:
Empty 1 gallon milk carton
Tissue paper
Mod Podge
Rubber band
Ribbon (optional)

Directions:

1. Mark the milk carton before cutting it. Mark the bottom for the basket and two strips on the sides for the handle.

2. Cut the milk carton starting at the mouth of the carton. I was surprised at how easy it was to cut.
3. Remove the label from the milk carton. I soaked it in water with a few drop of dish soap, then I used the rough part of my sponge to rub the label off.
4. Decorate your basket with the tissue paper and mod podge. Then set it out to dry.
I gave Little Tiger (age 3) some tissue paper squares and glue. She dipped her squares in the glue then put them on her basket. She got a little frustrated when the tissue paper wrinkled up, but eventually it wasn’t a big deal, and she kept decorating.
5.  Once the basket is dry, use a rubber band to connect the handle pieces together.
6. Optional: Tie a ribbon around the top.
What did I tell ya, a super easy kids craft that looks so cute!
